BECOME A REACH MEMBER
Anyone who is a current patient or client, or who lives or works in the Grandview Woodland Community is welcome to join as a REACH member. Members vote at the Annual General Meeting in September, when a new Board is elected and may serve on committees. They may also be invited to attend events or give input into REACH’s activities. Membership is also an excellent starting point for individuals who may want to join our Board of Directors.

VOLUNTEER
Our Basics for Health program relies on dedicated volunteers to run their referral-based program. Volunteers assist individuals and families with meeting their needs for housing, employment/income security, healthy child development, food security, education, and social support as needed. Volunteers will provide support to clients through information and resource provision, referrals, advocacy, and follow-up while working with other volunteers to maintain efficient service.

Volunteer with the Dental Clinic
Our Dental Clinic has a dedicated volunteer program that provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a community health care setting while supporting the daily work of our dental team.
Our dental volunteers play an important role in helping the clinic run smoothly. Depending on the needs of the clinic and the volunteer’s experience, responsibilities may include:
Disinfecting and preparing operatories and equipment;
Cleaning and sterilizing instruments;
Preparing and seating patients;
Supporting the dental team with general clinic tasks; and
Observing dentists and hygienists, when time permits and with the consent of both the provider and patient.
We value volunteers who are reliable, engaged, eager to learn, and comfortable working as part of a team.
A minimum of four month commitment is required for all dental volunteers.
Volunteer Shifts
Regular volunteer shifts are available Friday and Saturday:
Morning: 8:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Afternoon: 1:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.
Volunteers are expected to commit to a consistent weekly shift. Please indicate which days and shift times you are available when applying.
Additional shifts may be available upon request.
