Recommended HIV Screening TestHIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a very different disease now than it was 20 years ago. There still is no cure but earlier diagnosis can lead to earlier treatments resulting in good health and long productive lives. Treatment also significantly reduces the risk of transmitting the virus to others. Care providers at REACH will be recommending and offering HIV testing to all sexually active adults who have not had an HIV test in the last year. Knowing you are negative can be as important as knowing you are positive. Screening for HIV is recommended but like all tests, it is voluntary. More info about HIV/AIDS can be found though; Healthlink BC www.healthlinkbc.ca (search 'HIV' in the Health Topics space) CATIE www.catie.ca Living a Healthy Life with Chronic ConditionsThe Chronic Disease Self-Management Program is a FREE educational workshop giving you the tools to live a healthy life!

We receive about 70% of the funds that are needed to run our programs and must raise the rest. REACH is not a member of the United Way. However, we can receive funds if a person specifically designates REACH as a recipient at the end of their employee donor giving form. Please consider earmarking some funds to REACH Community Health Centre if you have a United Way Employee Program. Funds are needed to:
