Our doctors provide complete family medical services. They are each here at various times during the week and take turns being on call at nights, on weekends, and on holidays. On days when your own doctor is not available to see you and the appointment is urgent, you will be seen by one of the other care providers.
Advance Practice Nurses
Our advance practice nurses have special training and experience and work with the doctors in providing care for health problems such as flu, rashes, infections, etc. They see sick and well children, share prenatal care with doctors, do routine gynaecological exams, and offer birth control counselling.
Nurse Practitioners
Nurse practitioners in BC have masters degree preparation and are licensed to prescribe common medications, order diagnostic tests, and make referrals to specialists. Your primary care provider at REACH will be either a family nurse practitioner or a physician. The nurse practitioner works both independently and in collaboration with the physicians, nurses and other health professionals.
Pharmacy
Our pharmacist teams up with your care provider to determine the most appropriate medication and/or drug therapy. The pharmacist is available to discuss any of your questions or concerns. The pharmacy is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Counselling
Our counsellor provides counselling for personal and family difficulties and also has current information on community agencies and social programs that may benefit you or your family. Group programs such as "Changeways" are organized to meet community needs.
Nutrition
Our nutritionist provides a full range of nutritional counselling services for individuals and families. The focus is on healthy food and integrating healthy habits into your lifestyle. The nutritionist is involved with different food-related projects in the community such as the Vancouver Community Kitchens project and the Vancouver Food Policy Council.
